In keeping with my altruistic self, let me pass along another little juicy tidbit, just in case you were unaware of it. Next week (7/12-7/13) marks the Blogphiladelphia event (or unconference as they refer to it) over at the Radisson Plaza.
It only seems fitting for me to relay to you an event happing in Philly that revolves around blogging, even if it would take an experienced fairy godmother along with a dozen guardian angels working overtime to get me there. Work, you know. Gotta pay the bills.
<big heavy, depressing sigh>
But, if you are at all interested in all things related to ”social media” (the latest buzzword to describe blogs, podcasts, vlogs and all the other cool stuff the internet has to offer these days), you should stop by and check it out. Did I mention it was free? How could I forget that? Geesh, “free” is the all time magical buzzword. The snag in all this? Reservations are limited and available on a first come, first serve basis. In other words, act NOW!
For more information, visit the Blogphiladelphia Blog or contact the Radisson.

I Want Candy
Author: Momish, Category: General, Resources
I am a major junk eater, constantly munching on candy, cake and chocolate. I even like virtual candy, my sweet tooth is that bad. It controls me.
I couldn’t resist getting my Daily Candy once I found out about this great Philly resource. Every day, a delicious email arrives in my inbox, giving me a sweet fix for the day.
From great fashion finds to cool events going on, the Daily Candy covers a wide variety of tidbits about many hidden treasures around the city. Take today’s morsel for instance. Mean and nasty cards available at Hello World on 20th street. Now c’mon, how sweet is that? I can think of at least a dozen or so uses for these cards and I’m not just talking about sending them to people witha sense of humor either.
So, if you like a little lift during the day, learning about new places, shops and events going on in the area, head on over to the Daily Candy website and sign up for your daily sugar dose.
Oh, you can also sign up for daily emails about other major cities as well, plus some cool things such as kids, travel and the almighty everything edition. That may be a lot of virtual candy, but at least you don’t have to worry about going to a virtual dentist.
(Ok, that was cheesy, I admit. So sue me!)

Hello From Philly!
Author: Momish, Category: About Me, General, Introduction
Hello from Philly! Land of the soft pretzel, Italian water ice, the Liberty Bell, the nation’s first zoo and the best cheese-steaks in the world, among a gajillion other great things.
This is my first post, so don’t expect too much. I am getting my feet wet here. Creating my niche, finding my voice and all that. Just wanted to jump on right away and say hello, then introduce myself, cause that would be the polite thing to do.
My “name” is Momish. If you decide to bypass my profile, then you will miss out on the nitty gritty stuff like how I recently became a mom, wife and stepmom, not to mention how I love really good bread and never climbed Mt. Everest.
Anyway, let me just say here that I am a seasoned Philly resident. I grew up and still live in South Philly and tend to stick around this hood for the most part, other than my excursions into Center City. Therefore, due to my egocentric nature, most of my Philly writing might lean heavily towards these areas. So, I am making it a point to tell you right here, right now (oh, you’re gonna love this) that you should feel free to chastise me if I ignore your particular corner of the city and what is going on. Given a good wag of the finger, I just might venture out a little more and see what the other parts of this town have to offer.
Which brings me to the other point I want to make here. I want this to be a well rounded Philly blog even if I am not a well rounded Philly resident. It’s a big city, even though our many neighborhoods produce that small town feeling. Please feel free to email me at phillybloggeratcomcastdotnet with any interesting places you have been, news bits about what is going on in your sector or area of interest, a topic you would like to see discussed, or a question you might like to throw out there for your fellow residents.
I welcome the input and I welcome you to Philadelphia is My Home!
