About Me

Welcome to Philly Is My Home!

I basically see this blog as way for me to write about my home town and all the great stuff it has to offer. This blog will be a mix of reviews, notices, goings on as well as a place for all of us to vent, praise and discuss all the aspects of living in the City of Brotherly Love (a-hem). There sure is a lot to do and talk about here, so I doubt we will ever be at a loss for words.

But, wait!

Let me introduce myself…

The boring facts: I’m an urban working mom, trying to hold it all together while at the same time trying to have fun and enjoy my life to the fullest. Not always easy. I have one daughter, a toddler and two teenage step daughters. And then there is my husband thrown into this female posse. Somehow he manages to deal.

I grew up in Philly and after many travels, have settled down here again. I went away to college and received my degree in…
wait for it…
Philosophy! Tada!

Um. So, yeah, I was a waitress for many years. I also worked in the Mental Health field as a rehab counselor (riding on the coattails of my psych minor). That went on for a few years until I bought my first computer. I immediately sought a way into the IT field, and now have the fancy title of Lotus Notes Administrator. I started blogging around a year ago on my personal blog Momish.

I also love to read, dine out, rent movies, do crossword puzzles, go to bar trivia (small confession - those days are actually over but I still would love to go none-the-less). I have many useless talents, am obsessed with all aspects of language and rarely eat sliced bread.

So there. I’ll just let that all sink in.
